ATHLETIC UNION EVENTS
The Athletic Union events symbolise the enthusiasm and the commitment we have to the AU as well as helping to celebrate the successes of the Union’s many teams and societies. Throughout the year there will be many events showcasing what the AU is all about, yet there are four prominent events.

Athletic Union Freshers’ Fayre – Wednesday 17th September
This is your opportunity to sign up for whatever society takes your fancy. All teams and societies will be out in force and the carnival atmosphere will head into the evening when you experience you first big AU Wednesday night called Fever Pitch.

Pep Rally
Once all teams have been selected for the year the Athletic Union will stage a mass parade around campus for the whole University to see who will be representing Lincoln this year against other institutions. A great opportunity to mix with other clubs and societies whilst serving your own team and making them proud.

Varsity
The series will be in its third season with Lincoln leading 2-0. It is a terrific event and last season we won 8-6 with the scores hanging 7-6 leading into to the final match. The competition features a variety of sports including American Football, Badminton, Basketball, Football,Hockey Netball, Rowing and Rugby Union. We are hoping to improve this already fantastic and enjoyable event by expanding those involved, giving everyone the chance to cheer on our teams.

AU Awards Dinner
A special night in the calendar of all clubs and societies as the Athletic Union toasts the achievements and successes of the clubs and societies with a night of dinner, dance and the occasional drink. This formal event gives everyone connected with the AU a chance to throw on their gladrags and celebrate another successful year for the Union and the University.

Tri-Societies Event
Last year saw the start of an event we would very much like to see continue and grow; this was the tri-societies event. The event entails the Football Societies, Hockey Society and Rugby Union Societies coming together and competing in all three sports. Set up by Seb Cox (current Hockey Co-President) the event is looking to expand and feature all AU members.
