Cheerleading
The Lincoln Jets cheerleading squad is a fifty strong male and female team. As well as cheering on the university’s many sports teams, the Jets themselves compete regionally and nationally with some of the squad even going to compete and train in Texas. Cheerleading is a mixture of stunting, gymnastics and dance so if any of those aspects appeal to you then the Jets could be your new society. Priding themselves on a party hard, train harder ethic, the Jets can usually be found in the Engine Shed doing one or the other.
Equine
Aimed at anyone interested in riding and anything horsey, the Equine Society arranges a number of hacks during the week to suit members’ timetables. The society offers an extensive range of trips throughout the year including occasional beach, pub and day rides, and prides itself as much on its social side as it does the riding.
Gymnastics
The primary aim of the Gymnastics Society is to make the sport available to the students at the University of Lincoln, from those who already have experience in gymnastics to people who wish to try it for the first time. The lessons aim to teach people basic gymnastics and will progress through to more difficult techniques and eventually competition routines. The society hopes to enter a team in the British Gymnastics Veterans competition
and BUCS (British University College Sports) this year.
Horse Riding and Polo
A friendly, fun loving society that is open to all students. Whether you have been riding for years, or never sat on a horse before, the society has something to offer you. With the Polo side of the society taking off and potential progress into competitive riding on the cards, this could be a big year for the society. Throw in a healthy helping of social events and the society really does have something for everyone.
Trampoline
The Trampoline Society boasts a wide range of membership from those who have never been on a trampoline
before to those who have been bouncing all their lives; the latter of which have the chance to compete in the BUCS university championships. The society is all about having fun, learning new skills and hosts regular social evenings and events, giving you the perfect opportunity to meet people whilst participating in a sport which is a little different
