ATHLETIC UNION COUNCIL
Society’s Council & Sports Council
The two councils are your chance to get involved and have an active say in your Athletic Union. Representatives from all clubs and societies meet twice a term to discuss topics and issues that affect their members and students. From facilities and funds to events and activities, no issue is too big or small for council. An open meeting will be held at the start of every year for members to come along to and experience the type of meeting that society’s council entails.
When is it?
Dates of council meetings will be announced here on the AU webite.
Who should attend?
Anyone is free to attend council but they must be a member of an Athletic Union society and cannot have voting rights. One committee member from each society (usually the president), must attend every council and they represent their societies vote.
Council Minutes
Minutes from previous council meetings will be available here soon.
Writing A Motion
When writing a motion you are putting an idea forward on behalf of all of the members of the Union. It is presented to a formal meeting, to be discussed, debated, voted on and carried out. This is one way in which you can get things changed in your Union.
