Welfare & Liaison Officer

What do you do?
Across all of the University’s satellite campuses the Welfare and Liaison officer will:

  • Represent you (the students) on issues to do with your wellbeing, safety, and interests.
  •  Be available for support and help with any problems affecting you as a student.
  • Run campaigns on various issues such as sexual health, community involvement and awareness, personal safety, healthy living etc etc. Anything that affects student living.
  • Be there!

You’re Aim for This Year:

  • Create a Welfare and Liaison campaigns committee to allow students to be more involved in the union and help with campaigns that they feel are important to them as students
  • Improve recycling on campus and in the student accommodation
  • Include the satellite campuses (Cathedral, Hull, Holbeach and Riseholme) more in campaigns and activities and be a more visible
  • Get students more involved and interested in the Union as a whole at what it can do for you

Proudest Moment:
Flying abroad on my own to work for the Summer when I left school. AND the Jets getting first place at competition!

Black Trousers and a top, or cheerleading kit

light lilac or baby pink

If you were an animal what would you be?
Pig, because then there is no excuse if you snort when you laugh

 What would item would you take if you were stranded on Brayford Island:
A Tetanus Jab and swuck (the weird ducks) repellent

Event most looking forward to during Fresher’s Week:
The first day, meeting all the new freshers and moving them in and having fun in the evening at Alfresco!

Tip for Fresher’s Week:
Don’t go overboard in the evenings and be safe! (I sound like my mum)
