LINCOLN UNIVERSITY HANDBALL ARE PRAISED FOR A LONG AND HARD YEAR
The University Handball team has had a pretty rough ride this year due to lack of competitive court time. Unfortunately this was so hard to find that the club had to pull out of the league. It wasn't possible to afford the £22 per player reg fee's, and travel to games all hosted in Liverpool.
The team however have done well this year even if they have had one of the youngest and most inexperienced squads in the country. Handball firstly entered 2 teams into a Friendly tournament against higher division opposition. With some hard thought games by both teams the results were of a good standard, especially for players who had only been playing a matter of months and the experience at the tournament was huge.
Handball than entered the handball university tournament and finished 4th/5 in the league table group (10th/15 overall) with the yet again the most inexperience. This was a great result and the students union were very proud.
Handball have also set up a women's team this season who have all playerd for Nottingham as well. The girls also have been performing in Lincoln colours and finished 4th in the uni tournament which was above the expectations of the other teams competing. This was excellent news.

Well done to the Snowsports team who raised £450 in 12 days for a charity called "right to play" which enables disadvanted children to get into sport. They achieved this by taking part in a sponsored ski/board, organising a charity scavenger hunt and also by waxing some of their members! OUCH!!
They have also entered BUISC (british university indoor snow sports championship) With 4 members in the freestyle and 4 people in the slalom ski. Of the three boarders in the slalom two went to the finals. Alex Croft was 0.5seconds off first in the male slalom qualifiers and finished 4th. Alex Tidswell who only took up boarding last year through LUSST came third in the women's board slalom.
