Vacancy Description

  • Learning Gain Ambassadors will be responsible for communicating with other project participants from within their college to inform them of the incentives and benefits of participating in The Learning Gain Project for a second time. Their key aim will be to encourage students to complete our assessments (and a consent form where this has not previously been provided). The role will require you to post messages and reminders on social media and to engage with peers on a face-to-face basis; it may also involve giving short presentations at the beginning of teaching sessions.
  • Learning Gain Ambassadors will be responsible for identifying the best methods of engagement to use within their college and will be expected to work independently using their own device; however, support from the Learning Gain Project Team will be available at all times and the successful applicant will attend a briefing before beginning work.
  • Learning Gain Ambassadors will be required to evidence the work that they have completed, for example by screen shots of social media posts.
  • We require 5 Learning Gain Ambassadors in total, one to focus on the 30 students from Pharmacy, 2 to focus on Architecture students and 2 to focus on Psychology students.
  • This vacancy is an opportunity to develop skills and gain experience which can then be referenced on your CV.

Person Requirements

  • Learning Gain Ambassadors should be a confident communicator with experience of using social media. They must be approachable and adaptable with an ability to work flexibly to achieve targets.
  • Applicants must have participated in The Learning Gain Project in their first year of study, please contact Ali Brumhead (abrumhead@lincoln.ac.uk) if you are unsure if you qualify.
  • Any degrees that sit under the School of Pharmacy, Architecture or Psychology.

Salary £7.73 per hour

In addition to payment for the hours completed, Learning Gain Ambassadors will receive a £20 bonus in Amazon vouchers if a 70% completion rate is achieved within their college. Learning Gain Ambassadors will also be eligible for the incentives offered to all project participants.

Role Description

From February 2017 we are establishing a presence in Lincolnshire and would like to invite qualified teachers and graduate specialists to register with us.
We are recruiting tutors for all subjects and levels in most areas.
We are especially keen to hear from tutors who can offer basic numeracy, literacy, special educational needs support and 11+ preparation as well as graduate specialists of  mathematics, English and sciences for GCSE and Advanced Level coaching.

Person Requirements

Effective tutors need to:

Understand how children and young people learn.
Have, or be prepared to acquire, an up-to-date knowledge of the school-based curriculum/exam specifications.
Have expertise in the subjects taught.
Be able to support learning with patience and clarity.
Be able to employ a range of strategies to build confidence in individual youngsters.
All registered tutors must provide references and a DBS certificate (HST can apply for a DBS certificate on behalf of the tutor).

The successful candidate will be required to take apart, service and re-assemble dampers, operate the damper test dynomometer. It will also be necessary to fabricate parts using a lathe.
Full training will be given.

Our business hours are 8am till 5pm Monday to Friday. Hours can be flexible from 1 to 5 days a week and it is understood that time off is needed for exams and extra work is available in the holidays.

 

The ideal candidate will be interested in engineering and able to demonstrate practical skills in a relevant area such as vehicle or cycle maintenance, model building, motor sport, woodwork,
