The LGBT stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender. The LGBT Committee is a standing committee and led by a volunteer officer known as the ‘LGBT Officer’, who is elected during a campus wide election.
LGBT Officer will be supported by an internally elected committee and be responsible for the LGBT Committee and the representation of LGBT students at the University. The LGBT Committee is responsible for the organisation, direction and performance of group in fulfilling its strategy.
The LGBT Officer is also a voting member of Student Council, which takes places once a month.
The LGBT Committee is responsible to Student Council and Vice President Welfare & Community, Brian Alcorn.

The LGBT Committee ran campaigns like the petition against the ban on gay men giving blood and anti-homophobia campaigns as well as has promoted diversity and acceptance throughout the University.
LGBT Committee meets for discussion every Thursday from 7.30pm at the Scene. Everyone is welcome to join and come along to the meetings and events.
