The Women’s Committee is a standing committee and led by a volunteer officer known as the ‘Women’s Officer’, who is elected during a campus wide election.
Women’s Officer will be supported by an internally elected committee and be responsible for the Women’s Committee and the representation of women at the University.

The Women’s Officer is also a voting member of Student Council, which takes places once a month.

The Women’s Committee is responsible to Student Council and Vice President Welfare & Community, Brian Alcorn.

The aims of the Mature Students Committee are

  • offer support to Women
  • represent the views of female members to the Students’ Union and University
  • ensure equal opportunities and zero tolerance policy
  • organise campaigns to increase awareness of women’s issues
  • promote links with other similar groups and organisations, within the local community, regional area and nationally
  • raise funds to support these aims

There are two types of memberships available

  • full membership, which is open to all females self-defining, and those who are questioning their gender, and are full members of the Students’ Union. You must be a member of the Students' Union.
  • associate membership for all females self-defining, and those who are questioning their gender, and who are associate members of the Students’ Union.

Meetings of the Women’s Committee shall take place at least bi-weekly. If a self-defined male would like to
