The Lincoln Conservation Group was formed in 1994.
We carry out practical conservation work in and around Lincoln, with regular forays out of Lincolnshire on away weekends.
We hope to conserve the natural history and biodiversity of the area, and have fun whilst doing it!
Availability
They meet at the site for 10am and work until about 3:30-4pm. Most people stay all day but you can come along just for a few hours.

Tasks:
There are a variety of projects and activities that you could contribute to or lead:
Delivering energy awareness campaigns across campus
Designing energy awareness materials
Organising events
Website and social media development
Conducting market research
Face-to-face communications – speaking at meetings, hosting event stands and informal communications
Supporting inter-halls energy competitions
Assist with energy data analysis and software support
Conduct campus energy surveys and help identify possible energy saving projects
Location:
Brayford Pool, Cathedral, Riseholme or Holbeach campuses.
Support and supervision:
All energy champions will receive an induction and training will be offered as appropriate. The University’s Environment Team will provide regular support and supervision throughout.
Personal qualities and requirements:
No previous experience necessary. Just bring enthusiasm and a willingness to learn from, and work with, fellow energy champions and university staff. With diverse activities on offer there will be something for all skills and areas of interest.
Availability:
To suit volunteer/dependant on chosen level of project involvement.

Title of role: Recyclist/environmentalist
Tasks:
To help the cricket club analyse what it does with regard to being environmentally friendly and to come up with a plan to improve this in order to reduce costs. The project will primarily involve waste management and recycling action plans.
Location: Ashby Avenue, Lincoln LN5 0HG
Support and supervision:
Volunteers will receive support and supervision from various people at the club in order to develop a plan.
Personal qualities and requirements:
Volunteers will liaise with senior figures at the club in order to create an action plan. They must be driven, be knowledgeable on environmental issues, have good communication skills and a strategic mind.
Skills the volunteer will learn or develop:
Volunteers will gain experience of working with other people in a real life situation and develop their problem solving and communication skills.
Availability: Time and dates can be arranged to suit the volunteer. It can be on a regular basis or “as and when”.
