Sport Makers
The aim of Sports Makers is to recruit, train and deploy 40, 000 new sport volunteers nationally that are aged 16 years or over to organise and lead community sporting activities. Sports Makers are volunteers that make sport happen in local communities.

Another 2012 legacy project managed by Lincolnshire Sports Partnership is Quest For Gold. This provides both opportunities for students to volunteer and participate in the Olympic and Paralympic sports across Lincolnshire. More information will be available on the launch day – 15th March.
The project aims to engage with residents of the City of Lincoln aged 50 and over to raise their awareness about the importance of leading a healthy and active lifestyle through a range of educational and practical opportunities, and by facilitating access to existing services.
They would be looking for volunteers to take over and lead some of the established sessions such as New age Kurling and Nintendo Wii sessions. They would offer support and monitor the sessions.
They are looking for roughly 5-10 volunteers from the sports department to run sessions.

Title of role: Cricket Activator
Tasks:
• Create a plan for activity within the University, which can engage with both students and staff
• Communicate with staff members to agree plan and arrange facilities
• Create and distribute marketing materials to promote activity
• Lead practical sessions, including setting out basic drills and running games

• Role involves largely independent work
• Training through the ECB, includes resources providing tips on running sessions and competitions
• A kit bag is supplied which includes 2 bats, 3 incrediballs, 2 sets of stumps and cones

• Ideally you will have knowledge of the game but this is not essential

Tasks:
Two volunteeres are needed to organise and engage children aged between 5 and 12yrs in sport (particularly football), keeping them safe and encouraging them to understand rules, fair play, respect etc.
The volunteers will need to begin each session with a warm up and end with a cool down.

Support and supervision:
ASFA committee members/staff are always on hand if necessary.

Student Ambassador
As a Student Ambassador you represent Right To Play at your university and in your community. Your primary focus as a Student ambassador will be to work within your local area to raise money for, and awareness of, Right To Play.

The best Student Ambassador each year is presented with the ‘Red Ball Award’ at the BUCS conference – attended by anyone and everyone to do with sport at university.
If you do well as a Student Ambassador there are possibilities for you to do an internship in the office or project work in the field
Your ambassadorship will give you ownership and responsibility for what you have done at uni and if you do worthwhile things it will look fantastic on your CV regardless of what job you want to do and we can give you a glowing reference.
The sport, events and charity sectors are notoriously difficult to get into.
The Student Amabssador programme gives you experience in all of them as well as a variety of transferable skills; if you do well it can give your career a headāstart.)

Tasks: Leading training sessions either once or twice a week.

Tasks:
To help deliver multi sports activities across Lincoln as well as being able to work with local schools and support the establishment of after school clubs, competitions and school holiday sessions. Be able to work occasional weekends and evenings.

Personal qualities and requirements:
Desirable but not essential:-
• Experience of working with / engaging young people in a coaching environment
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to function in a team
• Good organisational skills (i.e. construct own work programmes supervision of volunteers etc.)
• A current full driving licence / own transport although alternative arrangements may be agreed with applicants

Entertainment coordinator
Tasks:
• Setting up, looking after and putting away a small PA system.
• Creating and supervising a music playlist for pre-match, timeouts and period breaks.
• Announcing the teams at the start of the game.
• Supervising half-time competitions and entertainment.

University of Lincoln Sports Centre
Support and supervision:
The volunteer will work with the club committee to ensure the smooth running and professional approach to every home game.
Personal qualities and requirements:
The volunteer should be familiar with the use of basic PA systems and be able to set-up and take down such a system. They should also be confident in addressing large groups and be able to speak to a crowd in an engaging manner.
Skills the volunteer will learn or develop:
• Public speaking.
• Organisation, planning and timing of activities.
• Presenting information coherently and professionally to a paying audience.
• Technical skills – setting-up and using a PA system for both address and music.
Availability:
The volunteer should be available between 2pm and 5pm on Saturdays for home games (7 games remaining between now and March) and for occasional committee meetings (evenings).

Tasks:
• Coordinating all activity around home games (all games are played between 2pm – 5pm at the university sports centre).
• Liaising with sports centre staff, court manager, head coach and other committee members.
• Greeting and guiding away team and referees to changing facilities.
• Occasional stewarding and working on the gate (taking entrance fees, handing out programmes, selling raffle tickets).

Title of role: Community Sports Assistant
Tasks: Volunteers will be involved in a range of different tasks associated with delivery of community sports and positive activity sessions. This could include coaching, leading activities, assisting with events etc.
Location:
Placements in Lincoln North, Lincoln South, Gainsborough, Grantham and Boston
Support and supervision:
Each volunteer will receive an induction to the project and placement. Volunteers will be allocated a mentor to supervise and support during their volunteering placement. Also additional support around transport or other personal circumstances will be considered on an individual case basis.
