
This charity provides emotional support to people 24 hours a day by phone, e-mail, or face to face.
Volunteers are required to help in the Lincoln area. Extensive training is given, and volunteers will develop important skills and gain valuable experience for their CV.
Availability
Samaritans work in shifts, so times can be flexible to suit University courses.
There is extensive training for this role & a substantial commitment is required.

Headway Lincolnshire Volunteer
Tasks:
To develop an understanding and awareness of the needs of people affected by brain injury.
To attend and support our Support Groups in Lincoln and/or Boston.
Be willing and able to help with the organisation of activities/arrange speakers as requested by attendees.
Be able to signpost to relevant organisations (training will be provided).
Be willing to undertake any relevant training.
To be able to listen and not be judgemental.
Location:
Mainly Lincoln but could be county wide.
Support and supervision:
Volunteers will always have contact details of the information & support worker for Headway Lincolnshire and committee members.
Regular meetings and training will also take place.

Availability:
The support groups are held:
Lincoln – The Priory Centre on the 1st Thursday of each month starting at 7:15pm. This usually lasts approx 2 hours.
Boston – The Five Bells, Butterwick, Boston on the 1st Wednesday of each month starting at 10am until 12 noon
