We are the home of sports and societies at the University of Lincoln. With over 130 groups to get involved with, we have something for everyone!
Your Students' Union sports clubs cover nearly every possible sport - football, swimming, cheerleading, netball, water polo, mountaineering, just to name a few.
If you want to try a sport before you join, keep an eye out for teams' taster sessions and tryouts held during the first few weeks after Freshers Week. Many of our teams also take part in BUCS (British Universities & Colleges Sport), with competitions held throughout the year.
Societies are the best way to meet like-minded people whilst bonding over an interest that you all share. from academic societies (Law, Psychology, Medical) to recreational societies (Harry Potter, Assassins, Musical Theatre, Juggling), we have something for everyone.
And, if we don't, it's super easy to set up your own society and put yourself in the driver's seat. You don't even have to be studying a particular course to join - anyone can join any society!
Hello everyone! I am in my 3rd year of university studying Physical Education & Sport and I am your Sports Officer for 2019/2020. I am here as a person of contact for any queries sports teams may have. I sit in on the Students’ Union Drop-In sessions in the Activities Office every Wednesday from 10am-1pm, and you can also email or give me a message online through social media. Some of my main aims are to keep sporting participation at a consistent level, and make communication more simplistic between Students, the Sports Centre and the Student Union. I look forward to making a difference in sport for all and keeping the WEARELINCOLN community strong!
Hi, I'm Rhys Davies and I am your Societies Officer for 2019 - 2020. I will be working alongside Abi Brown, this year’s VP Activities, to support all societies, making sure that you're represented across the Student's Union and help foster your development! Alongside this, I'm present at regular drop-in sessions in the Activities Office to answer any questions, queries or concerns, that you need to get resolved. One of my main aims is to make sure that society voices are heard within the #wearelincoln community, and show everyone how great it is to be part of a Lincoln Students' Union society! Being involved within the SU and societies has been the highlight of my time so far in Lincoln, and it is all down to societies and the people I've met in them. It's not easy completing your studies, and attending a society regularly, or even running one as a member of a committee! But through hard work and effort, we get amazing opportunities, fun experiences and new friendships - so what are you waiting for? Join a society today!!
LexyAcademic Societies Officer
Hello all I’m Lexy and I am your Academic Societies Officer for 2019-2020. This year I will be working closely with all academic societies to provide them with support and guidance on things including events and fundraising opportunities. I want to encourage all academic societies to get in good contact with their respective schools and get the support and encouragement they deserve. I will be available at least once a week for activities drop in and I am always available on social media and email. I would love to review the current cluster reps which represent the academic societies and they are currently very vaguely grouped. Lastly, I would love all course areas to have a related academic society where the students can network and learn new skills from each other!
