About International Relations
The International Relations Society is the university’s newest forum for debate and discussion of key international, political and economic issues. We have a diversified and varied membership with members from many backgrounds and degree subjects. The IR Society aims to have both social and academic aspects. From being a space where we can talk about world events and socialise, to discussing course content with helpful study sessions and conferring over upcoming assignments. Our main purpose, however, is to provide a space were students can get together, make friends, have a few drinks and have a good time.In addition to these events, the society is teaming up with various other societies to fundraise, spread awareness and get our members directly involved in issues related to international affairs that are having an impact in our local community as well as nationally and abroad. You don't have to be a student of IR to join - we welcome anyone who is interested, no matter the degree subject! Follow us on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook for more upcoming information about our new society!
All of our clubs and societies are run by a committee.
A committee is a team of people that lead, organise and publicise a group within your Students’ Union.
It can be really rewarding as well as being a great way to gain experience and invaluable skills for your future career.
