Careers & Employability

Lincoln Students’ Union works closely with the University’s Careers & Employability Service.

The Students’ Union provides multiple opportunities for you to develop your employability skills.  Make sure you are maximising this experience by engaging with the Careers team who will support you in developing your confidence, exploring your career options, finding job roles (from part time to graduate) and applying your experience throughout any recruitment process.  The Careers Centre is based on the ground floor of the University Library and all services are also available online; via video, telephone and email.  Please visit the website here to find out more about how our services can help you.

Here is how they can help:

Careers Clinic: Our Skills Advisers are available to support you with all aspects of job search or the recruitment process for any role; part time, placement, work experience or graduate. Clinic runs Monday-Friday 1-4pm and is a drop-in service.

Careers Guidance: Our & Employability Advisers offer 1:1 appointments to support you exploring your Career options and planning.

Careers Education: Our & Employability Advisers also teach on the curriculum so you will see them on your course during employability modules or for ad hoc sessions.

Career Events: We have daily events running to provide information and support your development; some are run by our expert Adviser team and others by employers. All events are advertised here.

Lincoln Award: Our employability award is designed to support you in developing and learning how to demonstrate your employability skills. The final stage allows you to put your learning to the test in our Assessment Centre Experience. Each one is partnered with an employer and students find the opportunity to practise and the feedback they receive invaluable. By completion of the award you will be confident communicating your skills to any employer!  Full details can be seen here.

Vacancies: CareerLinc is our online portal where all vacancies are advertised; part time, placement, work experience and graduate roles. All students are already set up on the system so simply use your University log-in to get started!

Campus Jobs:  Our Student Employment Agency which advertises all jobs for the University on campus; from admin to retail, one off roles to ongoing part time jobs, find out more here.

Online Resources: We offer support 24 hours a day via our online resources. We have our own Careers & Employability online learning pathways on LinkedIn Learning.  Full details can be found here.

We also provide online access to all areas of our service, including CV and recruitment tools and support for working internationally.  More information can be seen here.
