We are delighted to announce that we have received a grant from The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) Diamond fund to enable us to reach and support disadvantaged students who want to do their DofE with the University of Lincoln Students’ Union.

Thanks to this fantastic funding, we will be looking to increase the number of participants doing their Gold Award, and also using it to help with some of the expedition costs – providing more of our students the opportunity, which may not otherwise have been open to them, to develop ‘soft’ skills and attributes for life and the workplace.

‘With this fantastic grant secured from the DofE’s Diamond fund, we will be able to increase the number of students who can get involved with the DofE – either to continue if they have started at school, or to be able to start and finish their Gold Award whilst at University.

We would like to thank you for your continued support of University of Lincoln Students’ Union and the DofE. We look forward to seeing the impact this project has on our young people’s lives’.

Cassie Coakley, Students’ Union President
