After receiving numerous nominations from industry professionals, we are proud to announce that The Engine Shed has been shortlisted in the Live UK Awards under the Best Venue Teamwork: Campus category for best all-round, in-house team working on live music events at a university or college.
The Live UK Music Business Awards recognise excellence and talent among promoters, venue operators, festival organisers and agents, through to artist managers, tour managers, show producers, brand impact and record label partnerships. The Engine Shed will now go toe-to-toe with fellow finalists Leeds University Union and Mountford Hall to compete for the award, which was won last year by Manchester Academy.
James Brooks, Chief Executive of Lincoln Students’ Union has had the following to say in relation to the shortlisting:
“I’m very proud that The Engine Shed has been shortlisted. It’s a credit to all our staff and the hard work they put in to making sure we provide high quality customer service and an excellent experience to everyone who visits or uses the venue.
It’s great to get recognition for the effort put in and not only is it fantastic for the Students’ Union, it also helps promote the city of Lincoln on the live music map too. This will only help to excel the service provided by the Engine Shed even further, as we aim to continually grow.”
Over the past year, The Engine Shed has welcomed well-established names as well as some of the brightest acts in the country, including Enter Shikari, Blossoms, Dodie, Kaiser Chiefs. Chase & Status, and Public Service Broadcasting.
In recent weeks, The Engine Shed has also announced live performances from up and coming artists Aitch and Yxng Bane who are both performing in the near future.
The winners will be announced at the gala ceremony on Wednesday 30th October.
