An Update on COVID tests for new international students arriving in the UK.
Following recent changes in Government guidelines on the 15th February, all International travellers arriving in the UK are required to take two COVID-19 tests, which must be purchased before travelling. This costs £210 and it known as a ‘travel test package’.
We realised this has the potential to affect our new incoming International students and Amina has been working with the University around the possibility of supporting those students.
Following these discussions, we are pleased to inform new students that the University has announced they will be supporting affected students by reimbursing the £210 cost of the travel test package, when they arrive in Lincoln. Students must email the University’s Student Support Centre team at [email protected] within 14 days of arriving in the UK to arrange their reimbursement.
Additionally, we would like to alert students to the Royal Mail website here, which lists the Priority Postboxes where COVID tests can be posted. It is within Government Guidelines to walk to a Priority Postbox, whilst maintaining social-distancing, to send a COVID-19 test even if you are self-isolating.
