In December, England Women's deaf futsal team triumphed, securing fourth place in the European Championship in Finland.
Lincoln student, Jennifer Evans, played brilliantly helping the squad finish top of the group, winning every game played.
The group stages were exhausting, with six games taking place over eight days. After a much needed rest day, The Lionesses smashed it in the quarter finals, defeating Ireland 4-3.
There was no time to stop and celebrate though, as the squad took on Germany in the semi-finals the next day. Unfortunately they were defeated 7-1 and then lost to Spain in the bronze medal match.
England Women's finished an incredible fourth place in the Euros.
"It was a fantastic finish and we are proud of the performance England put in to get that result." - Jennifer
However, the players didn't stop there. After a week and a half off following the Championship, four of The Lionesses including Jennifer quickly recovered and played in the Futsal Champions League representing Doncaster.
The four travelled to Germany along with six Irish players. Tackling six games in five days, the squad not only proved their stamina but also their skill finishing an amazing second place.
Could there have been a better way to celebrate than spending New Year's abroad among amazing players and great friends?
Jennifer has been a prominent member of the #WeAreLincoln community throughout her time at UoL. We couldn't be more proud of her determination, energy and skill.
Well done. We hope you celebrated well!
