Lincoln Students’ Union 1% Pay Gap

Ahead of the Government’s deadline for UK businesses to submit their pay figures on Wednesday 11th April, the University of Lincoln Students’ Union can reveal a pay gap of just 1%.

The national pay gap discussion aims to highlight the differences organisations have in regards to the treatment of men and women across the organisation as a whole, rather than men and women working in the same roles (of which it is illegal to not be treated equally). The pay gap looks at the mean salary of men, and the mean salary of women across the organisation, with the difference being highlighted as a percentage.

Although the Government deadline is only legally applicable to organisations which hold 250+ full-time employees, the University of Lincoln Students’ Union is proud to be a transparent organisation which is open to all of its members and wider stakeholders. We are proud to be in the top percentile in the country, with the average national pay gap currently standing at 18.4%.

The University of Lincoln currently has 62 full-time employees. Taking the mean of men and women across the organisation, this means that the average salary in the Students’ Union is £11.94 an hour for men, and £11.79 for women.
