Bailey, your VP Campaigns and Environment has been offered an exciting career opportunity so will be leaving the post before the end of her term.
Her last day will be the 16th April. Bailey has held numerous roles in the SU during her time in Lincoln and we are proud that she is able to make this career move, using the skills she has built here although we are sad to see her go.
Bailey has the following message for students:
After 3 years of being in various SU volunteer roles and 9 months of being a Student Leader I cannot believe that all the fun and hard work is coming to an end. I have been offered my dream job at Essex Wildlife Trust, an offer that I cannot refuse and so it is time for me to move onto my next step.
My time as a dancer, a President of a society, a Volunteer Officer and a Student Leader have been among the best opportunities of my life and I can safely say that I would not be where I am today without my experiences within the Students’ Union. Over the last 9 months, I have had the pleasure of being your first-ever Vice President Campaigns & Environment and it has been incredible. My time as a Student Leader has been somewhat unconventional with no ducks to throw at Quack!, or Fresher’s Fayres to meet you all in person. However, I want to thank every single student and member of SU and University staff who has helped me make real and positive change regardless of a global pandemic.
A specific thank you to Sade, James, Nat, Millie and Zoe who have been wonderful Campaigns Network Officers to work with and I wish you all the very best for the future. Keep that passion forever burning guys!
Of course, a massive thank you to Georgia, Amina, Lucy, and Abi. Being part of the first-ever all-female Student Leader team is an honour and I am so grateful for every one of you. As individuals, you have all taught me so much, I will be forever grateful.
I am extremely heartbroken to be leaving an organisation that means so much to me but I am excited to see what the next step in life brings. I have 2 months left to make the most out of being your Student Leader and I have every intention of making the most of it.
All the best and stay green,
In line with the Students’ Union Bye-Laws, the Board of Trustees have decided that the remaining Student Leaders will continue as a team of three and will work together to support and guide Bailey’s network of students and represent students on issues related to the VP Campaigns and Environment’s remit.
