It was reported this morning that an incident of racist graffiti had occurred on the University of Lincoln campus.

The University of Lincoln Students’ Union’s BAME Officer, Rhianne Morris, said on Twitter:

This is not acceptable. This is not the Lincoln I know and love. We cannot allow this to continue.”

Following a statement by University Vice Chancellor, Mary Stuart, condemning the graffiti, Student Union President, Kudzai Muzangaza, said:

“One of the main things I have been proud of about Lincoln is that students come together as part of one community and accept that incidents of discrimination are wholly unacceptable. I’m aware of the issues that have been raised today and am looking to address these.”

The University of Lincoln hosts Hate Crime reporting mechanisms to address and deal with issues of racism across campus. Incidents can be reported to the University Advice Service, with a list of useful resources found HERE. Additional support can also be found from the Students’ Union’s Advice Centre.
