Students’ Union Elections Notice

Each year the Students’ Union holds elections to elect the Student Leaders and Volunteer Officers for the next academic year.

Due to the change of term times at the University of Lincoln, this year, the elections are taking place later than in previous years. The dates of the elections for 2021, to elect the Student Leaders and Volunteer Officers for the academic year 2021/22 are:

Nominations: 1st March, 9am – 12th March, 5pm

Voting: 15th March, 8pm – 19th March, 2pm

You can nominate yourself and vote during these dates, online at Votes will be cast using the Single Transferable Vote Method.  

Any member of the University of Lincoln Students’ Union is able to nominate themselves and vote, in line with bye-law 7 of the Students’ Union bye-laws.

All Student Leader candidates must attend the question time event in line with bye-law 7.11.1. This year, question time is to be held as a round table event, for each group of candidates, online using Streamyard.

Members will have the opportunity to submit questions in advance and ask questions in a live chat.

The dates/times of the Virtual Question Time events for each group of candidates are:

Education: 16th March, 11am
Activities: 16th March, 12pm
Campaigns & Environment: 16th March, 1pm
Wellbeing & Community: 16th March, 2pm
International: 16th March, 3pm

The election results will be announced on March 19th, 4pm.

This year, the elections will be running a bit differently due to COVID-19.  To ensure consistency for all candidates the Election Sub Committee has ruled that these elections will take place with no Physical campaigning allowed by any candidate . All election campaigning will therefore only be permitted to take place online, in line with the rules and regulations which can be found here.
