Your Students’ Union is offering all University of Lincoln students the opportunity to take part in Look After Your Mate training.
This workshop will empower you to support your friends experiencing mental health difficulties, whilst looking after your own wellbeing, especially during these challenging times. We know that for students, navigating university life can be tricky at times, and we know how important it is for an individual to reach out to their friends in times of need. In addition, you will be educated on the importance of spotting the signs, and where to signpost when necessary.
We want you to have the knowledge, confidence and skills to support your friends and feel comfortable confiding in each other. The course is open to all students and will be delivered by a qualified Look After Your Mate trainer. This training session is also a great opportunity for you to develop your employability skills. Once you have attended the session, it will be recorded on your Skills Log – a record of your extracurricular activity and the skills you have developed. The sessions will be delivered virtually via Microsoft Teams, and the course is interactive so be prepared to discuss ideas with fellow students on the course.
This is a great opportunity to learn together, and to support each other. The sessions will take place virtually and will last approximately 3 hours.
