Grace Millane, a University of Lincoln graduate and former Hockey Ladies Seconds Vice Captain and Tour Secretary, has been reported missing whilst travelling in Auckland, New Zealand.

Grace went missing five days ago, and has had no contact with her family or friends since 1st December. The New Zealand Embassy has been contacted, and a social media campaign is currently being pushed by friends, family, and members of the UoL Hockey club to raise awareness of Grace’s whereabouts.

Samantha Ramsay, 2018/19 Hockey President, says:

"Grace always wanted to go travelling. She’s driven, sassy, and a fierce friend. She’s been working really hard to save up to go on this trip and it’s not like Grace to not check in with her friends and family. If anyone is able to share our message to friends or groups of people who they know in New Zealand, or if anyone has seen anything at all that might help locate Grace, we’d appreciate any effort to spread the word."

Kudzai Muzangaza, 2018/19 Students’ Union President, says:

"We are saddened to hear the news of Grace and encourage any and all of our students at the University of Lincoln to spread the word wherever possible. Our best wishes go to Grace’s family, friends, and the UoL Hockey Club during this time as we hope for Grace’s safe return."

Cassie Coakley, 2018/19 Students’ Union Vice President Activites, says:

"Myself and the rest of the team are here to support and help in any way possible. This is the time for our #WEARELINCOLN community to pull together and support everyone affected.”

For students wishing to further support the Hockey Club during this time, Samantha and the team are encouraging any and all students in the #WEARELINCOLN community and beyond to attend their home game today at 1:30pm on the astro turf at the Sports Centre in solidarity for the search efforts.
