As of this morning, a number of National Governing Bodies have decided to suspend affiliated sports activity and recommend that all non-affiliated sports activity is also suspended. Therefore, in partnership, Lincoln Students’ Union and Hull University Union have taken the difficult decision to cancel Varsity tomorrow (Sat 14 March).
We understand this is disappointing and this is not a decision we have taken lightly. We would like to reassure all students who have paid to attend the event, that you will receive a full ticket refund.
Abi Brown VP Activities, University of Lincoln Students Union said:
“Words cannot describe how devastated I am about having to cancel the Varsity competition tomorrow. The effort that our teams have put in for this weekend has been incredible and all I can say is that I am sorry that this has had to happen. Due to these unforeseen circumstances, it is vital that we put our students health at the forefront of our decision making.
Please contact me if you have any queries or concerns. I apologise with all of my heart that third years do not get to experience their last Varsity but let’s train harder and keep the trophy for another year”.

“We are really disappointed that we have had to cancel this year’s Varsity. It’s a decision we have made alongside Lincoln and we are satisfied that this is in the best interests of students at both Universities. Once again we really appreciate your cooperation and understanding.”
