Provide a how-to overview of room technology at lecture podiums

Write and laminate A4 cards containing both the standard seating plan and room information we already have in addition to materials on how to connect a laptop to a display, change room lighting settings, use microphones and so on. Basic 'modules' of how to accomplish a task could be created and added to individual rooms' set of instructions based on if it has that technology or not (for instance few rooms have projector display curtains.) Wraparound tags with brief descriptions could also be made and attached to cables at lecture podiums so speakers are instantly aware of the functionalities. This would greatly reduce reliance on IT support and disruption to lectures.

As someone who has had to work out how the technology works when used a booked seminar room, I feel like this is a no-brainer and would save much time and energy. I would suggest that any room with a projector, front table and computer etc. be included in this rather than just the large lecture theatres.
