Charity Clothes Bin on Campus

Charity Clothes Bin on Campus

A lot of students need to get rid of clothes either by growing out of them or growing out of love with them so this is a good way to give to charity.

It would be useful to have a clothes recycling bin on campus as as often clothes clear outs can be quite heavy so the closer to student accommodation the better.

This would be particularly beneficial at the end of term when students are moving out of their accommodation.

After investigating this with the university's Energy and Environment Officer, it was established that perhaps better promotion of the existing recycling outposts on campus (opposite Bridge House) should be promoted more. This will be included in the student newsletters to ensure that all students are aware of the clothing collection points there. Furthermore, the student leaders will actively promote clothing collections during the upcoming drop-in sessions which will then be redistributed to the charity collection outpost on campus.
