SU should have swap shop for books and any helpful notes students no longer need

I think it would be a good idea for a swap shop to be set up where students can go and put their old books up for sale if they're no longer needed at a discounted price (2nd hand price). This could save students money in the long run if the library doesn't have the necessary books for courses and it saves them buying expensive new books when they could just have 2nd hand books at a decent price and then just sell them on when they no longer need them too. Also, lecture materials and any other course materials that could helps students with their work could also be traded in/given away. Each School should have its own section. This could be done at regular intervals such as a week in every month.

Hi Rachael,

I really like your swap shop idea, however I wanted to clarify something.

When you say "lecture materials and any other course materials" could be traded/given away, are you referring to lecture notes?

I personally don't think giving away lecture notes is a good idea as it could have plagiarism/colluding/academic integrity issues, as well as cause lecture attendance problems.

I think the book swap is a great idea. Not sure about the 'other materials' bit.
