The University gym should be accessible to members 24/7

The idea of the University gym being accessible to members 24/7 should be implemented because the current timing is not suitable according to some timetables. It would provide flexibility and would motivate more students to join. The benefit this idea will have on the student body will be that students would not have to travel off campus to other gyms, i.e. Pure Gym.

President,

This SUggestion has been raised with the relevant individuals in the university and is something that is being explored. As most students will appreciate, this presents a very challenging logistical operation and something that the Students' Union is working closely with the Sports Centre to see implemented. As such, this SUggestion will be categorised as 'Future' until such a time we have substantive movement on the idea.

I think people can be trusted and having a 24/7 gym would make people more likely to stay at the uni gym. You could have limited access during really out of hours but it would be better than none at all.

As someone who works 4 to 5 days a week and is a Part time Masters student, i couldnt agree with this more. The weekends are a complete write off as they close at 5 and ive been forced to cut down my weekly 3 sessions to 2 because of it. If the Gym was 24/7 or even just weekends being open till 10 as well, it would make mine, and so many others, lives easier.
