Better parking permits for students

The parking permit currently available to students only allows them to park on campus out of hours. Offering a permit to students that allows parking on campus in the day time makes life a lot easier for those who commute from home even if the permit comes at a small price. Commuting to university often means parking your car down back streets and causes problems for locals who are wanting to park outside their house. This is also unsafe when you are walking down the backstreets of Lincoln when it gets dark at 5 o'clock.

Some lecturers and uni staff struggle to park with the limited number of spaces on campus already. This number is being further decreased when the medical school gets built so letting students have permits too will not work. Maybe getting a discount for staff and students at an external car park could be looked at?

There is a discount available at the High Street NCP car park, you need to ask at the SU reception for the code for it. However, I do think it would be great to be able to park on campus. If the uni is buying up land to build on then it could allocate some of this to student parking. My daily commute is expensive enough without having to pay car parking fees on top.
