It is a constant struggle for many students to carry around all of their books/equipment. On-campus lockers are the perfect way to save our backs. Pay a termly/weekly fee and be able to leave the books you need the most on-campus is ideal not just for the average students but especially for those who commute in.
Student Leader Feedback
The latest feedback/information from the University is that there have been a lot of summer works which have meant a vast amount of work to ensure that projects are on time. As such progress with lockers has been slower than would have been expected, however it has been explored and the first iteration of student lockers are to be delivered to the university in the early half of November 2018 - with a view to utilise them in the PG Common Room. Depending on the usability, and other criteria, it will be explored whether it is viable to place lockers at multiple locations across campus.
This SUggestion has been explored over the past few months and work is ongoing. Feedback from the university is that the Estates team are working on introducing new types of lockers on campus with student card access to enable more coverage and reduce the need for keys. I will update on this SUggestion as and when news arises.
This SUggestion is one we have been looking into over the past few months. As space on campus is already quite limited, we are looking at utilising existing locker facilities. Currently there are lockers in the Sarah Swift , Isaac Newton, Joseph Banks Laboratories, AAD buildings. We have been in touch with the estates department and will establish contact with the relevant schools within those buildings. The aim is to create a scheme whereby these locker facilities will also be available to the majority of students. The logistics of such a scheme will be looked at in more depth, look out for further updates.
