The temperature of the library needs to be fixed

The library can get far too hot and sticky, making it very uncomfortable to work. Especially when the weather starts getting warmer, its deadline season and the library is nearly at full capcity. For alot of students they have to go to the library to use the books that cost far to much to buy but due to limited copies, can not leave the library either.

It is unfair to expect employees of the library to work in an uncomfortable temperature, nor is it unfair to expect students to study, sometimes for a long period of time, in such temperatures.

President,

The Estates department is looking to hopefully invest in improved systems for temperature management and the library's response times to queries around heating and cooling. More updates to follow.

I agree. The heat makes it so hard to concentrate

Completely agree! The uncomfortable heat and stickiness makes me sometimes avoid going to the library, and cuts the time I spend in there short!

I agree at the current season of spring/summer the library doesn't need to be as warm as it is. That being said, it's difficult to please everyone, and I am much more comfortable working in a warm environment- if I'm too cold I find it difficult to concentrate. The group rooms are often rather cold- could group rooms be temp. controlled via the users that are in them?

I agree, I had to leave the library on one occasion due to the uncomfortable heat making it hard to work.
I couldn't imagine how hard it is for the staff to work in these conditions for long periods of time. It really needs adjusting please!
