Somewhere either on campus or online where students can sell or give away their old books or course materials that they don't need any more to other students

Vice President Welfare & Community,

The second hand book buying/selling event was a big success, and we had good feedback from both the students who came along to buy and those to sell. Most of those who attended suggested that an online buying/selling platform would be preferable in future, so this is something I will continue to look into.

President,

As a result of this SUggestion, the Students' Union will be hosting its first ever second hand book buying/selling event on the 2nd October 2018 in The Platform! This is a chance for students to sell their old text books to other students (and make a bit of money), and for other students to pick up a bargain (as books can be so expensive). Buying books second hand is also a great way to be environmentally friendly whilst studying at Lincoln! Go to https://lincolnsu.com/books to find out the time slot for your College, and then come along to buy or sell your text books! There will be a two hour slot for each College, with tables for each School. FOR THOSE SELLING: Remember to price your books competitively as it is likely that other students will be selling copies of the same book. FOR THOSE BUYING: Please bring cash, as it will not be possible to pay by card! See you there!

Vice President Welfare & Community,

Update 15/11/17 We will be looking at whether a online platform such as a Facebook group would be most beneficial to sell on old textbooks or a physical fayre. We will also look at installing a bookcase in one of our venues to swap fiction and other donated books for other students to enjoy.
